Indiana State Fair
DuPont Food Pavilion, Farming Experience
Indianapolis, IN

KD+P had a unique opportunity to help the Indiana State Fair re-imagine a popular pavilion at its historic fairgrounds. The 16,000 square foot DuPont Food Pavilion spotlights Indiana farmers, artisans and chefs with a blend of product sample stations, vendor booths and exhibit spaces. A grocery store, The Hoosier Market, anchors the space, and is a modular-design for future expansion and easy set-up and take down. Very large banners with plein air paintings of scenic farmland and animals are suspended throughout to enliven the space and divide exhibit spaces.

Our partnership with the Indiana State Fair continues as we help envision the Indiana Farming Experience, a new pavilion to be completed for 2013. As part of a team including an architect, media consultant, exhibit developers and the Indiana Soybean Alliance, KD+P is leading the design of exhibits highlighting the roles of new technologies in farming. Beyond the August dates of the Fair, the building will serve as "the world's largest classroom", with distance learning and school group programming.
