Conner Prairie Interactive History Park

Conner Prairie Interactive History Park
Continuing Design Work
Fishers, IN

KD+P has been partnering with Conner Prairie on a variety of projects as they implement a master plan, guiding their transformation from a passive facility into a highly experiential and interactive history park. The first to be completed was 1859 Balloon Voyage, an exhibit about the first air-mail flight that surrounds a tethered, helium-filled balloon that soars up to 400 feet high.

KD+P also teamed up on the interactive historical experience, 1863 Civil War Journey: Raid on Indiana. Our planning and concept work became the foundation of a live actor/theatrical experience that takes visitors to Dupont, Indiana in the midst of a visit from Morgan's Raiders. In addition, KD+P designed and oversaw the production of the River Crossing children’s play area located in the town's train depot.

Most recently, we've helped reinvent 1836 Prairietown with the use of time travel imagery and scripted guide books that invite greater visitor engagement with first-person interpreters.
